GIFT GIVING ETIQUETTE FOR GUESTS.

Let's talk about how tricky and stressful gift giving can be for guests😫. From finding the perfect present to avoiding those awkward moments, it's a journey mostly filled with excitement and trepidation.

So you've been invited to a friend's wedding, house warming, baby shower etc this weekend and you're not quite sure how to navigate the gift giving aspect of the event.  Not to worry, we've put together 5 gift giving etiquette that'll help you scale through this weekend.😁

Purchase off their registry: you can never go wrong with using the recipient's registry as a guideline for gift giving.

The registry basically holds your hand and walk you through the recipients preferences,  gives you multiple options and at the end of the day narrows it down to your budget. What more would you need?

Rather than worrying, request for a gift registry link and if they do not have one, tell them it would be nice if they could create one using www.Sincerelyyours.com.ng or just simply send us a Dm @sincerelyyoursng on all social media platforms😁 and in 24hrs their registry link would be ready for distribution!

When in doubt, cash gift would do :

So unfortunately, Temi didn't bother with creating a wishlist or opening a gift registry for her wedding and to be honest, you're not quite sure what her preference, taste or style is; send cash gift!. Most celebrants would pick cash gift over a gift item they do not like, already have nor need 🤷‍♀️.

It doesn't matter how little the amount might be, cash gift is your best bet when in doubt.

Do not expect a gift in return:

I get it. You bought asoebi and spent 20k on a gift for Chioma's wedding and before it gets to your turn souvenirs don finish!🤨.

Before you confront event planner, please hear me out🙏; the end goal of gift giving is to put a smile on recepients face not the other way round. It's your own little way of sharing in their happiness.

It's unethical to request or demand for a gift in return.

The Couple Conundrum:

Choosing a gift for a couple can be a challenge. You're caught between getting something they can both enjoy or opting for individual presents. Here's our suggestion,  Combine the best of both worlds!. This is where experience gifts comes in handy.

Look for experiences they can enjoy together, like a cooking class or a weekend getaway, movies etc.

Or better still, get them a household item.

It's a win-win situation 😉.

Consider the 'Group Gifting' option: group gifting is an available option that allows guests communally contribute towards getting a gift without breaking the bank.

This option comes in handy for purchasing pricey gifts .

It'll be perfect if you're not buoyant as at the time of the event.

I mean it's been proven over time that two good heads are better than one.
